What do you recommend for others to read?
In Chapter 14 the group need to make some difficult decisions such as whether to scout the rapids. How do the rafters make their decisions? How did your group make decisons? How is the best way to make group decisions that will please everybody? Make a comment. In this post you can share ideas about what you do in your down-time – sports, tv, gaming, reading etc, etc. (Don’t forget your comments will still be moderated) There are several leaders of the group during the course of the book – see pages 14, 115 and 126. What qualities does a good leader need to have? Use the characters in the books to support your argument Here’s an example: To be a good leader the person needs to have in-depth knowledge of their field, just like Al who is a very experienced wilderness leader. Will Hobb’s has chosen the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon for the setting of Downriver. How does this setting enhance and suit this novel? Add a comment. Check out the Fly-though and Virtual Map links of the Grand Canyon on the right-hand side of the blog. See if you find Sockdobager, Hermit, Grapevine, Crystal, Lava Falls, Hance, Diamond Creek and some of the other rapids.
